God Is Blessing Homeschooling

When Ray began in ministry, he served as a campus minister, reaching out to students at the University of Mississippi in order to help them not only be successful in this life but to live with God forever. Six years after we moved there, our family looked like this.

On the front steps of our church in Oxford

Working in campus ministry was like being a missionary to students from America and many other countries who came to where you lived rather than you going to where they lived. After that first ministry, as long as Ray was in full-time ministry, we always worked in churches that served students on college campuses.

On Friday the entire Notgrass History team met together to talk about how to do a better job of letting people know about our curriculum. Three members of our team were with us online and the rest were in our company office. Also with us was a consultant whom we hired to share some ideas. She began with this insight:

  • At one time, a majority of parents began homeschooling at least partly because they wanted to share their Christian faith with their children.
  • Today a large number of parents are devoted, loving parents who are conservative Americans and are faith neutral.

Ray and I have been watching this trend for sometime. It is exciting because we who are Christian homeschoolers have an opportunity to serve families whom God loves and wants to save and people who are faith neutral have new opportunities to learn how much God loves them and to come to Jesus and live forever.

At Notgrass History, it has long been our mission to teach the hearts, souls, and minds of students. With our curriculum’s strong Christian worldview, we now have the opportunity to help families who might not yet know how much God loves them while continuing to help Christian families stay strong in their commitments to Him.

I am excited about this. I believe that God is working to draw more people to Him.

For God so loved the world,
that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish,
but have eternal life.
John 3:16
