Praising God Around the World

Congratulations Sara, Kimberly, Jennifer, Rebecca, and Leslie for being the first five mamas to find the stink bug on my shoulder! I have emailed you about how to receive your free copy of the book, Daily Encouragement for Homeschooling Mothers. And thank you, Cindy, for pulling the only April Fool’s joke on me all day! You had me thinking, “Oh, no! There was one on the towel, too!” You got me! 🙂

Thank you to everyone who participated. I enjoyed reading all of your emails. You are all such a blessing to me. And now for some thoughts for today:

“Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world . . . .”

A girl in a rural school in Texas stands before a world map in 1943.

I’ve sung that song since I was a little girl in Sunday School. As we all know, it is true! I had fun looking for Sunday School photos on Library of Congress. I think you will enjoy them, too. Notice the dates and locations. These children and adults are marching in a Sunday School parade in Brooklyn, New York, c. 1908.

These teens and adults are part of a Chinese Sunday School in Washington, D.C., c. 1919-1920.

These adults are part of a delegation from India. They are taking part in a School School convention that took place on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem in 1928.

This photo is also from that Sunday School convention.

Boyd Jones is in the Moses Chapel Sunday School in Green County, Georgia, in 1941.

These children are in Sunday School at a Czech church in New York City in 1942.

These young ones are in a Moravian Sunday School in Pennsylvania in 1942.

These girls are Japanese Americans who were detained in the Manzanar Relocation Center in California during 1943. Famous photographer Ansel Adams took their photograph in 1943 during a Sunday School class at Manzanar.

Thank you for teaching your children from childhood the eternal truth that God loves all nations. He always has. Psalm 67 proclaims that truth beautifully.

God be gracious to us and bless us,
And cause His face to shine upon us.
That Your way may be known on the earth,
Your salvation among all nations.
Let the peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.
Let the nations be glad and sing for joy;
For You will judge the peoples with uprightness
And guide the nations on the earth.
Let the peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.
The earth has yielded its produce;
God, our God, blesses us.
God blesses us,
That all the ends of the earth may fear Him.
Psalm 67

When our team got together online yesterday morning at 8:30 a.m. CDT, we went “around the room” sharing what has been happening in our at-home offices. Our son-in-law Nate reported on the free downloads we have been offering to homeschooling families and to people who are suddenly homeschooling because of stay-at-home guidelines. He surprised us by telling us that people from around the world are taking advantage of the downloads. I was so excited!

And I was deeply grateful to hear that wonderful news. I decided right away that I wanted to share it with you so that you could be encouraged, too. I asked Nate to send me a list of the countries.

I was astounded when I received the list. I believe that each person has a longing that only God can satisfy. I know you are encouraged, just as I am, that people in the following countries have requested these Bible studies: Kenya, Senegal, and South Africa in Africa; Cambodia, India, Japan, the Philippines, and Thailand in Asia; Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, and the United Kingdom in Europe; Azerbaijan, Cyprus, and the United Arab Emirates in the Middle East; Canada and the United States (including many states and Puerto Rico) in North America; Australia and New Zealand in Oceania; and Brazil in South America.

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying,
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father
and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I commanded you;
and lo, I am with you always,
even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20

If you haven’t downloaded your free Bible studies yet, you can do so here. You will find other free offers there, too. Feel free to share this offer with anyone of any age. We can all use encouragement right now.

You can also type these into an email, if you want to share these offers with others that way.
